In order to utilize some features of this web site members, partners and affiliates create their own account. As a member you are not permitted to allow access to another user’s account; where that person is not an employee of your firm or an authorized sub-contractor (e.g. PR firm)
All information presented within your account, whether live on site or offline must be accurate and owned by you/your firm. As the membership account holder it is your responsibility to keep content up to date and to ensure its accuracy and ownership and ensure security is maintained by keeping your password safe and or periodically requesting a change of password. By becoming a member, partner or affiliate member of British Design Innovation you agree to provide true, accurate and current information about yourself; your employees and your company. If any of your information changes, you agree to update your membership information as soon as possible. If BDI believes that your information is not accurate, it reserves the right to challenge, verify or edit information. If any breach of membership terms and conditions or usage of this web site is detected BDI reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and your membership.
Any copyright templates and other copyright materials and documents, such as Professional Practice materials provided to you as a member, are for your use during the term of your membership. Non-renewal of membership withdraws the right of use. During the term of your membership and beyond it, you are not permitted to amend, modify or alter any BDI materials in any way and may not pass such materials to third party non member companies without written authorization to do so. No reasonable request will be denied.
For the duration of your membership you/your Company is authorized to use the BDI logo and term Member of British Design Innovation on your own marketing collateral and internal and external communication materials including in personal and company credentials such as biogs, CV’s and press releases. Non renewal of membership withdraws that right forthwith. Continued or non-authorized claims to membership by non-member individuals or firms will attract an invoice for payment not less than that of an annual membership fee should the breach, once notified, not be remedied within 7 working days and all materials withdrawn from public use immediately until the removal of logo’s and other written claims are removed.
Membership of British Design Innovation is for a full 12 months from date of joining. Renewal notices are issued four weeks prior to expiry date. Renewals are automatic in the absence of a cancellation notice prior to expiry date. Cancellations must be received in writing. If paying membership fees by standing order, cancellation of a standing order is not considered to be written cancellation of membership. Late cancellations received between 7 and 59 days after renewal/expiry date attract a cancellation fee of 25% of invoice value. Cancellations received after 60 days are subject to full payment of the annual membership fee. Until a cancellation notice is received in writing (formal letter or receipted email) service provision including continued access to members by site users remains uninterrupted and is therefore deemed to be notification that membership is renewed, on-going and authorized by the member company.
All graphics, structure, user-journey’s, special features, templates, documents, press releases, case studies and so forth, as well as content submitted by members, partners and affiliates are either property of BDI or its members; and in most instances are protected by intellectual property laws including laws relating to copyrights, trade-marks, and other similar rights. BDI recognizes but does not accept public domain.
Press material and case studies may only be used and copied for your own, non-commercial, personal or educational purpose; so long as appropriate source credits are applied. You may not edit, alter or create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit, BDI or members content in any way.
The content on the website, including without limitation, the text, graphics, and photos created by and for British Design Innovation, interactive features and the trademarks, service marks and logos contained therein are owned by or licensed to British Design Innovation, subject to copyright and other intellectual property rights under United Kingdom and foreign laws and international conventions. British Design Innovation may, under certain circumstances and without prior notice, immediately terminate your membership account and access to all or parts of the website without refund of all or any part of your membership fee. Outstanding/overdue membership fees at the time of termination and beyond will remain payable.
Cause for such termination shall include, but not be limited to:
| (i) | Breaches of the Terms of Use other incorporated agreements or guidelines;
| | (ii) | Requests by law enforcement including breach of copyright claims;
| | (iii) | Nonpayment of any fees owed by you in connection with membership services, other consultancy services or engagement in other paid activities;
| | (iv) | Self-initiated membership cancellations;
| | (v) | Discontinuance or amendment of a membership service;
| | (vi) | Unexpected technical or security issues or problems;
| | (vii) | Engagement by you/your Company in fraudulent or illegal activities;
| | (viii) | Evidence of libelous, slanderous or any other inappropriate behavior towards BDI, its staff or its members, partners or affiliates. |
